Mr Vance Amory has been a member of parliament for about 30 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) from UWI in 1973 and an MBA from UVI in 1988. Mr Amory worked as a teacher in 1967 to 1970 and 1973 to 1981 after graduating from the UWI. He served as Headmaster, Charlestown Secondary School, from 1977 to 1981 and was Manager of the St Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Ltd (Nevis Branch) from 1981 to 1983 and held the post of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance in the Nevis Island Administration from 1983 to 1986.
Mr Amory founded the Concerned Citizens Movement Political Party, in 1987 and was elected to the Nevis Assembly in that same year. He served as Premier of Nevis from 1992-2006 and then again from 2013 to present.
He has worked with various youth and sports groups and was an avid sportsman himself, representing Nevis and the Leeward Islands in cricket for a number of years.
Mr Amory has been a strong proponent of the Citizenship by Investment Programme for St Kitts and Nevis and has been a speaker at numerous conferences at which this programme has been promoted. As a long standing member of Parliament and Government, he has an understanding of the programme and has an appreciation of the importance of the programme to the economic and social development of the countries which offer this option to investors and people of high net worth generally.
