Has a Master’s in Business Administration from Oxford Brookes University specialising in Strategic Management for the Agro-processing sector and is currently a student of the Frankfurt School of Management and Finance where is doing further studies in Development Finance.
Currently, he is the CEO of the Grenada Marketing and National Importing Board after serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for one year in 2013. In his role as CEO, Mr. Edwards has been created for 100% turnaround of the net profit of the Organization within one year. He is currently leading a major rebranding, the introduction of a food safety system and other expansion initiatives.
His is also currently the President of the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce on his third term.
Edwards is the Deputy- Chairman of the Grenada CIB Programme and has been on the Board for 2 years. He is also Interim Chair of the Regional CBI Group.
He served as the local Director on the Board of Directors for West Indies Rum and Spirits Producers’ Association for years; and, was also Interim Chairman of the Grenada Beverage Alcohol Alliance for one year.
He has also worked as the General Manager of Grenada’s largest rum distillery for three years helping them to increase their export market penetration and the achievement of HACCP Certification.
His career started off as a Media Executive where he spent 5 years with the Grenada Broadcasting Network.
Ruel Edwards is also a Motivational Speaker, having delivered strong presentations in both Grenada and Across the Region.
