Mr. Christopher James, MBE. A Hotelier, the President of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association, and past Chairman of the Tobago Chamber of Commerce. He is Director of sales and marketing for a number of regional and international companies and a consultant on hotel operations.
Mr James has also been the Regional Chair of the Tobago Travel Foundation program almost since its inception in 2004. Through his work with the Travel Foundation, a British-based charity, Mr. James has made an outstanding contribution to tourism in the region by helping to establish several sustainable initiatives that have increased the benefits of tourism not only to residents but to visitors as well.
In 2005 he received the MBE (Member of the British Empire) award by Her Majesty the Queen for his work on the environment, community work and British business interests.
Mr. James has a BSc in Gas Engineering as well as an MBA in Marketing. He worked as a Director of British Gas PLC until 1994. He has lived in the region for many years and has been resident in Tobago for 22 years.
